I know it's not summer anymore but it still surprises me to see children in their school uniforms already. They look so pristine and new, their clothes all pressed and ironed and their little white socks pulled up past their pasty knees.
I always find it amusing to compare the different faces from school year to school year, you don't ever really notice the different people. A four year old boy with wavy red hair and glasses shapes to be an eighteen year old boy with short blonde hair and contact lenses. They'll never be the same person, but they do look like the same boy.
The skirts get shorter as you get older. The socks don't get pulled up as high. It's like nobody ever really buys a new uniform. Year by year, it gets tattered and small until it doesn't really fit, and it doesn't really matter.
School's out now, anyway.

I am so desperately, desperately lost.
